Hi, my name is Gabriel and I’m a recent veterinary graduate from Brazil. Since I joined the Vet School in Brazil, my goal was to be a Zoo Vet, and with some help from my university, including a scholarship, I was able to visit the US and serve as a vet student in multiple institutions, confirming that my goal was truly what my heart desired to do (and I have never been so happy).

 

With that, I’m still trying to carve my path towards my goal of being a Zoo Vet and working in the USA.

 

To be able to do that, I need to do (and pass) a few exams, such as the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) certification program, the NAVLE and, once accepted, get a State Licence to work.

 

The good news is that I’m halfway done with the ECFVG exam:

 

Step 1: Register, provide proof of graduation, and verify veterinary college credentials ✅

Step 2: Assess English language ability ✅

Step 3: Assess basic and clinical veterinary science knowledge (BCSE EXAM)

Step 4: Assess hands-on clinical veterinary medical skills (CPE EXAM)

 

The not so good news is that the CPE EXAM on its own is very expensive – $7,630 (USD); ($7,430 CPE Application fee + $200 Administrative fee) – and I cannot take the exams in Brazil, meaning I need to go to the US for those steps (including BCSE, CPE and NAVLE).

 

I’m asking for help so I can chase my dream and apply for those exams.

 

In return, for all the help, I pledge to give back to the US community – through donations to humanitarian causes – the same amount I get in donations for my cause, during my first years as a worker in the USA.
